Supreme Court House, Hong Kong,

29th July, 1904.

Madam,

I regret to inform you of the death of your husband in this Colony on the 17th May last.

2. I should have written to you before this; but did not know that you were ignorant of the fact until your letter of the 16th ultimo, addressed to the deceased, came to my hands.

3. Shortly after the deceased's death a telegram announcing the death was sent to the Colonial Office, and it was presumed that you would have been informed in due course: but this apparently has not been done.

4. You will be entitled to draw an annual pension of Two hundred and forty-three dollars and thirty-six cents ($243.36) Hong Kong currency, equal (if drawn in London at 3/- to the dollar), to £36.10.1. with effect from the 18th May last from the Widows' and Orphans' Pension Fund, upon your proving your identity to the Directors of the Fund through the Colonial Office, Downing Street, London, S.W.

5. I take this opportunity of expressing my sincere sympathy in your sad bereavement.

I am, &c.

(Sgd.) A. SETH,

Official Administrator.
